DNC fallout resulted in the resignation of top committee staffers

Since Wikileaks leaked the The Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails, the fallout has been tempered by the obvious and long delayed resignation of Debbie Wasserman Schultz as party chair, where it hasn’t necessarily hurt the party as much as many would have hoped.

The latest on the DNC fallout comes with news of three more top figures of the committee, those being the communications director Luis Miranda, CEO Amy Dacey and chief financial officer Brad Marshall; as they were either involved with emails or failed to control those who sent them over the more widely reported attacks on Bernie Sanders such as questioning his religious views.

It’s been suggested that DNC emails were leaked strategically right before the convention for a reason, hoping that the fallout would have sent the event into chaos. But the obvious resignation of Debbie Wasserman Schultz is so because it was already a suggestion from the Bernie Sanders camp months earlier during the primary, when she was accused of sabotaging their campaign. The DNC email leaks only confirmed her involvement.

According to a report by POLITICO Schultz had already been on the chopping block since the beginning of Hillary Clinton’s campaign, which at least for the DNC, makes the fallout already somewhat prophetic and therefore lessened the impact.

But Bernie Sanders supporters were clearly not satisfied with the result, feeling that the confirmation of favoritism toward Clinton meant the DNC owed Sanders more than the acceptance of 80 percent of his platform, and created a disturbance at the convention with boos and threats to walk out.

Inquisitr reported on one case of infighting between the Sanders and Hillary delegates from Texas during a breakfast meeting on the second day of the four day convention, where a most adamant Sanders supporter condemned Hillary Clinton in front of all of those in attendance, no doubt hoping the fallout would be worse.

As a result however, the DNC fallout hasn’t necessarily been as bad for the party as it has been for Republicans, as their nominee Donald Trump has been accused of possible treason, for suggesting to Russia that they continue to hack the Democratic Committee’s network to recover emails Clinton has long been accused of deleting. Along with the fact that his own campaign adviser Paul Manafort, used to work with the former president of Ukraine who loyal to the Putin regime and found to be corrupt, who fled to Russia where it’s been reported the hackers are based.

The Atlantic covered the DNC fallout with the recent resignation and refers to a statement by the new Chair Donna Brazile.

Thanks in part to the hard work of Amy, Luis, and Brad, the Democratic Party has adopted the most progressive platform in history, has put itself in financial position to win in November, and has begun the important work of investing in state party partnerships. I’m so grateful for their commitment to this cause, and I wish them continued success in the next chapter of their career.

So far since, about the only thing left from the DNC fallout is the attention it’s drawn to Jill Stein of the Green Party, who has been leading the charge to gain more votes for her campaign, which has only continued to call others to stand up against Clinton and condemn her for these emails. But as the Inquisitr article points out, the result of the DNC fallout has been salvaged as something positive since Bernie Sanders is looking to establish an organization that puts the issues he’s highlighted during his campaign as priority for Texas, in order to bring them to the capitol’s legislatures.
